The Daily Telegraph reports that nearly 16,000 positive coronavirus cases were not entered into the national computer system used for official figures, resulting in long delays being passed on to NHS Test and Trace handlers. It means that tens of thousands of contacts of those who tested positive are only now being approached to self-isolate – “in some cases 10 days after transmission occurred”, says the paper. The government has blamed “computer issues” for the error, it adds.
