And Chancellor Rishi Sunak has become the latest government minister to support calls to cut the self-isolation period from seven days to five, the Daily Telegraph reports. The motivation, the paper says, is that slashing isolation could help reduce staffing shortages caused by the spike in Omicron cases. The Telegraph cites a government source who suggests 60% of the Cabinet are in favour of the move, contingent on approval from scientists.
