Moving away from events in Ukraine, the Guardian leads with reports that the Treasury is pushing for nearly all free Covid testing to end as soon as next month in a bid to save billions. It comes despite warnings from public health experts and scientists, according to the paper. The department wants to end most PCR testing for people with Covid symptoms – possibly by the end of March – sources have told the paper. The government told the paper there were no plans to stop free tests when regulations expire.
