In another story critical of the chancellor, the Sunday Express reports on calls for the government to “seize back” billions stolen from the UK’s pandemic response. Former minister Lord Agnew, who resigned as the government’s anti-fraud tsar earlier this year, tells the paper that reclaiming the around £37bn lost to fraud would be a “pain free” way of offsetting the cost of living crisis.
