Large portions of the UK are experiencing their driest year since 1976 and some hosepipe bans are expected to last until October, according to the Daily Telegraph. The paper reports that a new heat-health alert has been issued for this week, with temperatures expected to rise to about 35C (95F) in parts of the country.
