The front pages continue to be dominated by stories about the ever-increasing projections for the cost of energy. The Daily Express splashes on a “shocking new warning” that the average annual bill is set to hit over £5,000 by next April. The paper says hopes of them falling by next spring have been “dashed”, noting that talks between energy bosses and ministers in Downing Street “failed to produce a plan”.
