Giving a sense of the divide in the party, the paper says allies of Ms Truss are warning rebels that they could trigger a general election – “and ‘ensure the Tories are finished as a party'” – while also quoting an MP who says it “would be grotesque” for the PM to make another appearance at Prime Minister’s Questions.
