Fears of the Israel-Gaza war erupting into a wider conflict in the region mean that Israel’s allies, including the UK, are urging their citizens to leave neighbouring Lebanon, a “stronghold” of Iran-backed Hezbollah militants, the Financial Times reports. A text sent to Britons in Lebanon read “the situation could deteriorate quickly and with no warning”, the paper says.
