A striking image of heavily-armed Israeli soldiers, close to the Gaza border, runs on the Daily Mail’s front page. The paper says troops entering the enclave is “imminent” after Israel’s “defence minister told his soldiers to ‘annihilate’ Hamas”. The newspaper continues that Yoav Gallant “banged the drum of war in a briefing to combat troops”. It quotes him as saying: “Whoever sees Gaza from afar will soon see it from the inside. The command will come, I promise you. There is no forgiveness for this thing. Only total annihilation of Hamas organisation”.
