Health Secretary Sajid Javid is set to scrap the requirement for compulsory Covid vaccinations for NHS staff in England, the Daily Telegraph reports. The paper says Mr Javid will today meet ministers on the Covid-Operations cabinet committee to finalise the “U-turn”. It follows warnings the health service could face “crippling” staff shortages caused by 80,000 health workers leaving their jobs over the jab requirement. But the care home industry – where jabs are already mandatory – say government “flip-flopping” has “devastated our workforce and brought providers to their knees”.
