The papers says around 20 people are expected to be sanctioned in the initial phase, with more penalties to follow at a later date. It adds the news “risks reigniting” the political backlash faced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier this year, when many public calls for his resignation were issued by opposition and Conservative MPs alike.
