There is positive news on the front page of the Financial Times, which reports that HSBC and Santander have declared the worst of the economic damage from coronavirus is behind them. The paper says the banks – two of the largest in Europe – have reported strong third-quarter earnings because of a sharp drop in new provisions for bad loans.
