The Financial Times pictures Israeli security forces walking past a police station, close to the Gaza border, that was destroyed after Hamas militants stormed the area. The paper’s lead story notes that Israel has cut off the supply of electricity, fuel and goods to Gaza. A front page Insight column by Andrew England says the attack is “a pivotal moment” for a nation “which has long prided itself on the ability of its security and intelligence establishment to pre-empt and crush threats to its borders”.
