It suggests Mr Johnson has “pointed the finger” at his fiancee Carrie Symonds with the comment – because she is said to have insisted on a overhaul due to ex-PM Theresa May’s “John Lewis furniture nightmare”. The paper notes how Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer posed for photographs while browsing wallpaper at a branch of the “middle-class home makers’ go-to store” at the Trafford Centre.
