The Sunday Times reports that Sinn Fein’s “historic” election victory has already prompted Foreign Secretary Liz Truss to warn Brussels to fix the Northern Ireland protocol or risk undermining the peace process. Ms Truss is said by the paper to be “deeply concerned” that EU’s unwillingness to change its negotiating position for the protocol could jeopardise the Good Friday agreement and spark protracted “political instability”.
