“Students in limbo” is the take from the Times as it warns that many pupils will be forced to defer their university courses until next year. Several universities have said students whose grades have been reinstated will be able to attend – but may have to wait a year as places have already filled up.

The Times, like most of the papers, leads with Boris Johnson’s confirmation of a major easing of coronavirus restrictions next Monday.It says hugs will be allowed for the first time in more than a year, pubs and restaurants can serve inside, cinemas and theatres can reopen, and five people will be able to visit care home residents.However, it adds that the PM has urged people not to “throw caution to the wind”.

The Times says the Conservatives’ series of historic victories means Boris Johnson is eyeing up a decade in power – with the PM vowing to embark on a “massive project” of levelling up the country. Some cabinet ministers have suggested that Mr Johnson could outlast Margaret Thatcher, who was in Downing Street for 11 years.
