Among the roughly 150 Israelis taken hostage was a 17-year-old girl with muscular dystrophy, according to the Times. The paper says Rut Perez, who is unable to walk or talk and is fed through a tube, had travelled to the Supernova music festival with her family to “communicate through music”. It quotes her sister, Yamit, pleading with Hamas to let Rut’s father, who was also taken hostage, take care of her. “He’s the only one who knows what she needs,” she says.
